As the sun rose this morning, it's honey golden light flowed across the south Texas landscape. Once more it carried promise on waves of changing hue. First a hint and then a flood of spectacular color.
I experienced first hand the night's migration from darkness, laying still and silent around me, to the incredible explosion of color that swept across the palet of a new day as it awakened from it's slumber. ![]() |

This day has become one of my favorites of the year…the annual Texas Sweat for 2006 had finally arrived.
It was here in the middle of March that we once again assembled, our pilgrimage before us and our destination dead ahead.
Thirty-one men from sixteen states and three countries had found their way to South Texas.
Charlie Lamb and I had, some years before, unknowingly created something very special.... the Texas Sweat.
As we had sewn the seeds of this adventure, now we were here to reap the fruits of our labor.
The Texas Sweat of 2006 proved to be nothing short of unbelievable. Please take the time to open the photos below and walk with us through our timeless journey of friendship, fellowship, and the Traditional Bowhunting way. CK |
